Loteria de Catalunya is going digital, with a bit of help from gambling technology provider Novomatic.
The first phase of Novomatic Lottery Solutions’s (NLS) partnership with Loteria Catalunya will see NLS maintaining provisions for the Catalan lottery provider, including connecting the lottery’s entire real estate using the most modern point of sales devices and telecommunications infrastructure, as well as supporting Loteria Catalunya’s existing games such as Loto Rapid, 6/49, Trio, Super 10, and La Grossa.
NLS, a subsidiary of Novomatic, will also deploy new scratch card games that are specifically developed by the local team for the Catalan market.
NLS chief executive Miriam Lindhorst said the second stage will involve the launch of a “full omni-channel experience” in Catalonia.
“After the summer, the lottery’s customers will be able to play Loto Rapid from mobile phones when traveling on the bus, or buy La Grossa with a simple click from their tablet or PC,” Lindhorst said.
Loteria de Catalunya officials said it chose Novomatic because “NLS services would provide a best in class omni-channel network,” resulting in a “dynamic sales point for its online and retail infrastructure.”
“This incredibly smooth and successful launch in Catalonia is proof positive not only that our technology works but also that we are able to deliver a smooth and risk free conversion to our customer,” said Frank Cecchini, CEO of NLS in Austria. “In one swift and sure project, a single platform delivers retail, internet and mobile sales… [a] demonstrable proof that NLS keeps its promises.”
